Industrial Maintenance Assistant, TCC (IM11) Technical Certificate of Credit
New Program
The objective of this program is to provide students with the opportunity to enter the workforce area of industry specialized in areas of industrial mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
This program qualifies for the HOPE Career Grant.
Program Outcomes: Upon completing this program, students will be able to effectively diagnose systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics, and interpret technical data sheets and schematic drawings. Additionally, they will develop skills to perform routine maintenance and rebuild manufacturing equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and equipment longevity in industrial settings.

Length of Program: 2 Terms
Admission Requirements:
- General College Admissions and Placement
- This program does NOT require a HS diploma or GED
- Potential applicants who do not have a high school diploma or equivalent must document at least two (2) years of successful performance within a specific field by completing and submitting the Experience Worker Certification Form to documents@wiregrass.edu

Weekly Contact Hours: Lecture - 1 Lab 2 - 2 Lab 3 - 0 Pre-requisite(s): None Co-requisite(s): None Provides an in-depth study of the health and safety practices required for maintenance of industrial, commercial, and home electrically operated equipment. Topics include: introduction to OSHA regulations; safety tools, equipment, and procedures; and first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. |

Weekly Contact Hours: Lecture - 2 Lab 2 - 2 Lab 3 - 3 Pre-requisite(s): None Co-requisite(s): None This course provides instruction in the fundamentals of safely operating hydraulic, pneumatic, and pump and piping systems. Theory and practical application concepts are discussed. Topics include hydraulic system principles and components, pneumatic system principles and components, and the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pump and piping systems. |

Topics include: pump identification, pump operation, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting, piping systems and installation of piping systems. |

IDSY 1170Industrial Mechanics
Weekly Contact Hours: Lecture - 1 Lab 2 - 4 Lab 3 - 3 Pre-requisite(s): None Co-requisite(s): None This course introduces and emphasizes the basic skill necessary for mechanical maintenance personnel. Instruction is also provided in the basic physics concepts applicable to the mechanics of industrial production equipment, and the application of mechanical principles with additional emphasis on power transmission and specific mechanical components. |
