The Impact of Giving

Group of students who received scholarships from Foundation South.

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is committed to changing lives through providing our students with hands-on educational experiences designed to prepare them to successfully enter, or to enhance the skills needed to advance in their chosen career. By supporting the Wiregrass Foundation, your gifts provide students access to state-of-the-art technology, facilities, and financial resources needed to succeed in the classroom and in their career field. With four campuses and more than 140 programs of study, the impact of supporting the Wiregrass Foundation is felt in the hospitals, offices and industries located throughout our 11-county service area. The Wiregrass Foundation invites you to come for a visit to learn how your support can make an impact.

The Foundation’s may also provide some financial assistance with educational expenses to qualified students who do not receive annual named or endowed scholarships. Students must request an application from an instructor, One-Stop office, or email: foundation@wiregrass.edu. Once completed it should be emailed to the Foundation for review.

Annual Scholarships or Program Funds:

The Foundation Board of Trustees oversees the awarding of these funds through a scholarship committee at the college. These are funds given to the Foundation for a specific program to assist students with tuition, fees, and books or program equipment & expansion needs. $1,000 will sponsor a full-time student for 2 semesters.

Annual Named Scholarships or Program Funds:

With a gift of $10,000 or more, you may establish a legacy in your name or in honor of a special person of your choosing.

Named Endowed Scholarships:

With a gift of $25,000 or more, you may endow a fund that will guarantee support for students in perpetuity.

General Student Scholarship Fund:

Funds given to WGTC Foundation for the purpose of student support that are not donations to an already named scholarship fund will be placed in the general student scholarship fund and the Foundation will award from an application submitted with anexplanation of need, GPA, and current enrollment status of their respective program.

* The WGTC is tracking funds for annual scholarships previously given in someone’s name or in honor of and awarded the same way, but newly named annual scholarship funds will not be named unless the gift is a minimum donation of $10,000, otherwise, funds will go into the general student scholarship fund.

Here are some of the many uses of donors’ contributions:

  • Scholarships for students
