I am requesting to withdraw from:Optional
Withdrawal Reason (choose one):Required

By signing below, I understand that withdrawing from a course(s) may affect my academic standing, financial aid award, and/or Veterans Tuition Assistance. I understand that I might owe a balance and will receive a grade of “W” or “F”, depending on the day I submit this form. I have read and understand the implications of withdrawing listed below.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

Federal and state regulations require that students make Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) in order to continue to receive aid. SAP measures whether students applying for financial aid are in good academic standing and making SAP toward completion of their programs. Satisfactory progress is evaluated at the end of each semester for all students. Please refer to the student handbook, located on the WGTC website, for more information about SAP criteria.

What will happen if I drop a class?

  • Self-Pay/Payment Plan students will not receive a payment refund if withdrawing after the fifth day of class.
  • If you drop before the first day of classes, all financial aid will be cancelled.
  • If you drop a class within the first five days of the term, all of your financial aid will be cancelled.
  • If you withdraw from ALL classes on or after the 6th day, your financial aid will be recalculated (refigured) based on the actual number of days attended. You may owe money if your new award is less than the amount of any institutional charges. If you have received a refund check, you may also owe back the refund amount.
  • Students with Veterans Tuition Assistance may owe the full balance back on a withdrawn course(s). Please speak with your WGTC Veterans Services representative for more information.

IMPORTANT--You are encouraged to contact your One-Stop Advisor, the Financial Aid Office, and/or your WGTC Veterans Services representative before you drop or withdraw from your classes so you can be advised on how the drop/withdrawal will affect your academic and financial assistance.
