Testing for Admission
Wiregrass GA Tech does not currently require testing for placement into any program of study. However, students can choose to take the ACCUPLACER placement exam to determine their level of preparedness in Mathematics and English before attending the College.
The following is required when you come to test:
- Application for Admission
- $25 non-refundable application fee (one-time fee)
- Picture ID
Placement tests are given in the Testing Center at each WGTC campus location. One-Stop staff will direct testers to the proper location.

Georgia POST Entrance Exam
Those interested in completing Georgia’s POST entrance exam (ACCUPLACER) should review and complete the registration form. The cost to take the ACCUPLACER exam is $25.

What is ACCUPLACER?
ACCUPLACER tests your knowledge in math, reading, and writing. Over 1,500 institutions administer ACCUPLACER tests as part of the enrollment process. These tests help identify your strengths and needs in each subject area. ACCUPLACER interactive online learning tools are available to help you sharpen your skills. The academic advisers and counselors at your college or technical school will use your ACCUPLACER test results along with information about your academic background, goals, and interests to help you take courses that match your skill level and give you the best opportunities for success.
What parts should I practice for the test?
Practice materials for each part include: Next-Generation Reading, Next-Generation Writing, Next-Generation Arithmetic, Next-Generation Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics (QAS).
How to prepare for ACCUPLACER
You can prepare for ACCUPLACER by taking advantage of the study tools and resources offered. Use these tools to become familiar with the types and format of ACCUPLACER test questions. They can help you identify the academic areas where you may need a little help, and prepare to improve.
These free Sample Questions give you examples of the types of questions you'll see when you take the ACCUPLACER test. It is useful for some fast and simple preparation prior to taking the test. Student may exempt the ACCUPLACER exam if they:
- Have acceptable ACCUPLACER, COMPASS, or ASSET scores from any regionally/nationally accredited post-secondary institution.
- Have acceptable SAT, ACT, GED, ELA, or Georgia Milestone scores within the past 60 months.
- Have successfully completed (passed with a C or higher) college-level English and/or math courses from a regionally/nationally accredited post-secondary institution.
