The Foundations of Wiregrass

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) is supported by two solid foundations: Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation North, serving Atkinson, Ben Hill, Coffee, Irwin, and Wilcox counties, and the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation South, serving Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Lanier, and Lowndes counties. Click to see a list of the Foundation Trustees.

Mission Statement

The Foundation exists to support the development of excellence in technical training and education. It does so by attracting and involving in this endeavor leaders from among the college’s alumni and friends. The Foundation’s primary efforts shall be directed toward attracting, receiving, investing, managing, and expending gifts and other resources designated for the technical training programs of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College.

How Donations are Used

Both foundations are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations established to support students and programs in their respective counties. With the generous contributions of our donors, the foundations are able to do many things to support students in developing skills needed in the workplace, provide equipment for programs, and assist Wiregrass Georgia Tech in providing workforce development. Here are some of the many uses of donors’ contributions:

  • Scholarships for students
  • Textbook assistance for students
  • Support for GOAL (Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership award) nominees and finalists
  • Equipment and supplies for programs
  • Program expansions
