Valdosta, GA., The Wiregrass Georgia Technical College serves 11 counties here in South Georgia and out of those counites 10 have been declared as disaster areas by FEMA. When members of the Lowe’s Foundation learned of this, they stepped into action and donated equipment for the college to use for employees. The items include; tarps, gas cans, rakes, chainsaws, and generators. President Clements shared this about the donation, “I cannot express how thankful our Wiregrass community was to receive this donation. Many of our employees have had homes and cars destroyed and did not have this kind of equipment on their own. After we put the text out my cell phone immediately started ringing.”
The college will be sending out messages over the weekend on the plans for the week of October 7. Next month is No Fee November where folks can save money when they apply for Spring Semester. Spring classes start on January 8, 2025. To learn more about the college visit Wiregrass.edu
