Wiregrass RN Program Students Receive Their Pins

Valdosta, GA— During a recent ceremony, students in the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Bridge program received their nursing pins. The nurse’s pin is part of the nurse’s uniform and is symbolic of a badge of honor and achievement, and a great honor to receive. The ASN Bridge graduates participated in the commencement ceremony that was held at the UGA Conference Center in Tifton in July.

Students who received their pins include Jessica Ayres, Valdosta; Macie Basson, Morven; Trent Berryhill, Ray City; Cory Browning, Nashville; Reese Chadwick, Hahira; Savannah Cortez, Lake Park; Noah Davis, Nashville; Cassidy Dupree, Valdosta; Jareah Gifford, Valdosta; Chelsey Keithley, Valdosta; Adam Koenemann, Hahira; Cindy Leisey, Hahira; Christy Morgan, Valdosta; Kasie Radney, Valdosta; Traci Restivo, Valdosta; Maya Ruiz, Forsyth; Gloria Salazar, Quitman; Lauren Tomlinson, Valdosta; Kristen Warren, Hahira; and Conner West, Nashville. Students have secured jobs at SGMC Health, UF Health Shands Hospital, VA Hospital, Colquitt Regional Medical Center, and local Pediatrician’s offices.

Special awards were also given out during the pinning ceremony. Students receiving awards include Clinical Excellence Award - Macie Basson and Savannah Cortz; Leadership Award - Adam Koenneman; The Nightingale Award - Gloria Salazar, and SGMC Health Dedication to Nursing Award - Noah Davis.

The RN program at Wiregrass has been ranked 3rd in the state for 2024 according to NursingProcess.org. The program held the number-one spot in 2023, 2022, 2020, and 2019.
