Valdosta, GA – Wiregrass Georgia Technical College has been recognized among the top in the nation for marketing excellence in the 2024 Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA) program. This prestigious awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing, advertising, and communications among colleges, universities, and educational organizations across the United States and Canada.
The 2024 CAA received entries from institutions of all sizes, ranging from small community colleges to large universities. Submissions were evaluated by a national panel of industry experts based on a 100-point scoring system. Entries competed against similarly sized institutions in designated categories.
Wiregrass Georgia Tech’s Marketing and Public Relations team earned two Gold Awards in this year’s competition:
- Gold Award – TV/Video Advertising/PSA Series
- The college received national recognition for the video series titled “Wiregrass Tech’s Health Care Program Videos.” Produced by In The Game Next, a Valdosta-based production company, the series included a 30-second commercial featuring Wiregrass President DeAnnia Clements discussing the increasing demand for healthcare professionals in South Georgia, a three-minute video highlighting the college’s partnership with SGMC Health, and a collection of student testimonial shorts. Wiregrass was the only college in the nation to receive a Gold Award in this category.
- Gold Award – Annual Report (5,001–10,000 Students)
- Wiregrass was also awarded top honors for its FY23 Annual Report in the category for colleges with 5,001 to 10,000 students. The report highlighted the college’s achievements from 2023–2024, including student success stories such as Brandon Howell, a Mechatronics graduate and multiple state and national SkillsUSA award winner.

Entries receiving Gold Awards ranked within the top 5% nationally, as determined by judges' scoring criteria such as creativity, design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality, and overall appeal.
The Wiregrass Marketing and Public Relations team includes Paige Duckworth, Graphic Design Specialist; Marsh Hanson, Webmaster/ Marketing Specialist; and Lydia Hubert, Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
