Valdosta, GA — Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation awarded multiple scholarships to help students complete their education and develop workforce skills. Three students from the Valdosta Campus were among the four Wiregrass students awarded scholarships made possible because of generous college supporters. The scholarships will help pay for tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies needed for their programs. The scholarships were merit-based and applicants had to complete an application and provide letters of support.
The Valdosta Campus students awarded scholarships for Summer Semester were: Jessica Bell, Associate of Science in Nursing, CJB Industries Scholarship; Danielle Cross, Associate of Science in Nursing, Flora Fourakers Scholarship; and Jessica Walker, Associate of Science in Early Childhood Care and Education, Farmers and Merchants Bank Scholarship.
Early Childhood Care and Education student Jessica Walker shared how this scholarship given by Farmers and Merchants Bank is allowing her to attend full-time this semester. She was going to have to drop two of her classes, but thanks to the scholarship she doesn’t have to worry about the costs of the books and is attending full-time.
