Fitzgerald, GA – Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation awarded multiple scholarships to help students complete their education and develop workforce skills. Dixie Towles, a student from the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus was among the four Wiregrass students awarded scholarships made possible because of generous college supporters. The scholarships will help pay for tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies needed for their programs. The scholarships were merit-based and applicants had to complete an application and provide letters of support.
Towles received a $250 Cherokee Rose Scholarship for Summer Semester. Dixie is the first recipient of this scholarship that was gifted to the foundation by Dr. Paul Reese, owner of Cherokee Rose Fitzgerald. Towles is from Nashville, Georgia, and is very appreciative of this scholarship. She plans to transfer to ABAC for Horticulture after receiving her Associate of Science in General Studies from Wiregrass.
