Valdosta, GA— Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation awarded multiple scholarships to help students complete their education and develop workforce skills for the Spring Semester. Recipients from the Valdosta Campus were awarded a scholarship made possible because of generous college supporters. The scholarships will help pay for tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies needed for their programs. The scholarships were merit-based and applicants had to complete an application and provide letters of support.

Strickland Memorial Scholarship; Nakeyah Lewis, Nursing, Clarence Smith Memorial Scholarship; Brianna Mejia, Culinary Arts, Kevin Acree Memorial Scholarship; Joshua Nizio, Air Conditioning Technology, Nadeen Green and Ned Cone Scholarship; Brittany Parks, Advanced EMT, Sabal Trail Emergency Scholarship; Toni Richardson, Associate of Science in Nursing; Sidney and Sharon Morris Scholarship; Gloria Salazar, Nursing, CJB Industries Scholarship; Daijah Stride, Nursing, Farmer and Merchants Bank Scholarship; Kellton Whitley, Mechatronics Technology Degree, The Trulieve Scholarship; Victoria Gomez, Accounting, Carolyn King Panizzi Scholarship; Victoria Guthrie, EMS Professions, Sabal Trail Emergency Services Scholarship; and Chantel Gray, EMS Professions, Sabal Trail Emergency Services Scholarship.
Culinary Arts student Brianna Mejia shared, “I am truly honored for the opportunity to receive the Kevin Acree Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is a huge blessing for my career and will help me continue on with my Culinary Arts degree. I am thankful for the support, and I am now one step closer to graduating in December of 2024. Wiregrass College and the staff have changed my life for the better and I will forever cherish this opportunity."
