Fitzgerald, GA., JCI Contractors have donated $500 to the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) Welding Program on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus. The donation will help with any program costs associated with competing in the Annual South + Southwest Skills Challenge Competition in Moultrie. JCI Contractors is the host contractor for the Skills Challenge which is scheduled for November 14 at the Sunbelt AG Expo in Moultrie.
Students in Wiregrass’ Dual Enrollment Welding classes will be able to compete with other high school students at the Skills Challenge. The college will use the donation to purchase protective gear for the students to use in the welding lab. The college Dual Enrollment program allows students in high school to maximize their education and career training by taking courses that earn college and high school credit at the same time.
