Douglas, GA — The Paramedicine program at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College recently accepted a donation of two hydraulic stretchers from Coffee Regional Medical Center. “The generous donation of the Stryker hydraulic stretchers by Coffee Regional will enable our Pre-Paramedic and our Paramedic students to perform skills and pre-hospital scenarios. This is the same equipment that is currently used in the field by seasoned EMT’s and Paramedics in real world emergencies,” shared Mark Ponder EMS/Paramedicine Instructor.

“Coffee Regional Medical Center is proud to partner with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College in their outstanding education and training programs. Our donation of the two power stretchers is one small way we can support and champion their efforts to prepare outstanding emergency medical technicians for our community,” Vicki Lewis, President & CEO Coffee Regional Medical Center.

The Paramedic program is offered as an Applied Associate in Science Degree program or Diploma program that generally takes students two years to complete. The program accepts new students each Spring Semester on the Coffee Campus. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
